Whenever I hear the same concept, word or phrase come at me from 3 different places, I start to take notice. Perhaps I’m a little behind the learning curve for trends but often I’ve found that what once appeared random now looks to be a new cultural presence.
Orange is a good example: year’s ago a friend working as a design developer for The Gap said with complete confidence “orange is the new black”. That was crazy, I thought. And now orange is everywhere!
Sarah Suzanka wrote her first book “The Not So Big House” 10 years ago and now small is the new big!
Malcolm Gladwell’s in his book of the same name, defines “the tipping point” as “the level at which the momentum for change becomes unstoppable.”
Whether black to orange, big to small – use the RR3 to develop your own predictive abilities about the future. And please, share your observations!
